new remix for A.Dd+
July 30th, 2012I’ve been a fan of Dallas’ A.Dd+ since DJ Sober put me on to them at SXSW 2 years ago. We stayed in touch about what they’ve had going on and I was geeked when they reached out about doing a remix of one of their tracks. These dudes are dumb talented, grind hard, consistently put out good music, and have a great live show! (If they’re in your town, GO SEE THEM.)

Special Delivery is back!

For the final year that APT (the legendary NYC nightspot) was open, Moma & I held down second Fridays for our monthly party, Special Delivery. Very quickly, it became one of the high points of my month, along with The Rub. Days before our 1 year anniversary in 2010, APT was shut down for good. In the past 2 and a half years, we’ve done Special Delivery as one-offs, but were always holding out for the right venue to get it up and running right. We finally found it!
Join us Thursday, June 28th as we jump-off the all new weekly Special Delivery at Viktor & Spoils!

New joint with Kaos
June 6th, 2012The homie Señor Kaos and I just dropped our update of Jeru The Damaja’s “Da Bichez”. In no way meant to disrespect women, we wanted to pay homage to Jeru and DJ Premier’s classic. Now 18 years after its release, Kaos and I re-visited and revamped it. This is the first track off Kaos’ EP, “Mama Said The Sun Rises In The Resurrection”, coming July 3rd, 2012

Premiere of remix for J-Boogie

My remix for the homie J-Boogie’s “Go To Work” (featuring Eugene Tamborine on keys) just saw its premiere on RCRDLBL.com this morning. They had a lot of nice things to say about it:
“This DJ Eleven remix of “Go To Work” by J Boogie’s Dubtronic Science is so outlandishly funky that it’s disappointing rooftop lounges aren’t still open to fully experience it. A sweaty apartment will do, though. There’s that sweet, fat old school synth bass, melodic squelches like De La Soul’s “Me, Myself And I” and a simple yet seductive refrain to just be there and dance. The homie DJ Center just released the remix version of his “Everything In Time” album, including a remix by yours truly. While my version of “In A Song” can’t handle a candle to DJ Spinna or Applejac’s remixes, I’m still pretty damn proud of it! Head on over to iTunes and cop it right here.
